Some Estimates for a Weighted L2 Projection
This paper is devoted to the error estimates for some weighted L projections. Nearly optimal estimates are obtained. These estimates can be applied to the analysis of the usual multigrid method, multilevel preconditioner and domain decomposition method for solving elliptic boundary problems whose coefficients have large jump discontinuities.
متن کاملRandom Projection-Based Anderson-Darling Test for Random Fields
In this paper, we present the Anderson-Darling (AD) and Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) goodness of fit statistics for stationary and non-stationary random fields. Namely, we adopt an easy-to-apply method based on a random projection of a Hilbert-valued random field onto the real line R, and then, applying the well-known AD and KS goodness of fit tests. We conclude this paper by studying the behavior o...
متن کاملA novel Local feature descriptor using the Mercator projection for 3D object recognition
Point cloud processing is a rapidly growing research area of computer vision. Introducing of cheap range sensors has made a great interest in the point cloud processing and 3D object recognition. 3D object recognition methods can be divided into two categories: global and local feature-based methods. Global features describe the entire model shape whereas local features encode the neighborhood ...
متن کاملA double projection method for solving variational inequalities without monotonicity
Wepresent a double projection algorithm for solving variational inequalities without monotonicity. If the solution of dual variational inequality does exist, then the sequence produced by our method is globally convergent to a solution. Under the same assumption, the sequence produced by known methods has only a subsequence converging to a solution. Numerical experiments are reported.
متن کاملCounterexamples concerning a Weighted L2 Projection
Counterexamples are given to show that some results concerning a weighted L projection presented earlier by Bramble and the author are sharp, i.e., that certain error and stability estimates are impossible in some cases.
